Macbook air is a BAD BUY?
Now that I’ve been very satisfied with my macbook, I expect the macbook air (MBA) would be just another good product from APPLE, but it’s seems that my expectation will not be justified.
I’ve just came across a good review of the Macbook Air at arstechnica and according to the review, the MAIN WEAKNESS of the new Macbook Air is the Battery Life, the author claim that he had average of 150 minutes using the MBA.
I think that people considering to buy the new Macbook Air should read the review first before making the decision to buy it.
Sure it’s not for everyone, but I agree with the author that the MBA is just really come too short, modern notebook battery life is around 3 to 5 hours, and I think those are the acceptable range for most users of notebook, even if some users could live with just two and a half hours, choosing the MBA might be a bad choice, because they can have much more better performance (experience, confinience, etc) by choosing other ultraportable than MBA (even my macbook can go more than three and a half hours with WiFI and VMWare Fusion running).
I’m SAD to say that the new Macbook Air is probably a really bad buy. I would think that user with 1800 USD to spend for an ultraportable notebook might find much better choice from other manufacturer. If Mac is the only choice, then the macbook might be a much better choice than the MBA.
